Men and women are given to pride
Perhaps it is in their nature so to do
Of all things they should exude any pride
None is as stupid as place of birth
Be such their origin, race, ethnicity or culture
For none of us ever determined our origin
Yet that is one pride that sets humans at war
To love, assert and protect ethnicity and race
To protect the land where their forebears trod
Even when the living are far flung and scattered
From the very origins they are drunk about
It is time to save humans from themselves
Lest they be drunk, drowned and dead
In the origin they had no hands in beforehand

succinctly put. It reminds me of one of my write-ups about Calvin’s teaching on predestination.
